Imnaha from In Pursuit of Questions on Vimeo.

Located in the northeast corner of Oregon, bordering Washington and Idaho.

Near the town of Joseph, OR, which is named after Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, who following in the model of his father, stood up against the United States government that sought to force the Nez Perce from their home in the Wallowa Valley near Wallowa Lake. [1]

In the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, which merges into Hells Canyon on the Snake River, through which there are wandering roads for on- and off-road riders.

Farmland surrounds, and in May the ride from Joseph to Imnaha with the lush green and ridged hills remind me of a softer version of the Rocky Mountains section extending from Glacier, Montana through Banff and Jasper, Alberta. Being present in that space of Imnaha displaces all else and fills one’s state with a relaxing, enveloping peace.
